Dance Team:

The dance team is a key part of the Patriot Athletic program providing a foundational framework for success and support. The Cheer & Dance program supports the Winter Sports of soccer and basketball and members are required to attend two (2), two-hour practices each week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Incremental Saturday practices may also occur before and during the seasons. Team practices start the week of October 19th.

There will be one tryout date for the Dance Team on Tuesday, October 13th from 4:00-5:00pm in the Moran Sports Complex gymnasium.

Team members are required to attend the 8 scheduled home basketball games, 4 scheduled home soccer games and a possible 1-2 Saturday home games for the upcoming seasons.

In order to attend tryouts, scholars must complete and submit the COVID-19 waiver and EL3 consent form. If selected for the roster, the additional EL2 and EKG forms must also be completed. All forms can be found under the “forms” tab of this website.

Dance Team members are subject to PCCA Athletics academic and behavioral policies. Policies can be found on pages 51-56 of the Student/Parent Handbook.

All 7th – 11th grade scholars are invited to the October 13th tryouts.

There will be fees for participating on the Dance Team (to cover the cost of uniforms and shoes) – these will be communicated as soon as possible.

High School Varsity Basketball:

The basketball program is set for an exciting year with 12 games already on the schedule: 8 home and 4 away. Away games are all within a 45-minute drive and, due to COVID-19 safety protocols, athletes are required to provide their own travel arrangements. COVID-19 protocols for away game venues are not yet known but will be communicated prior to any travel.

Pre-season conditioning and open gyms start on Thursday, October 15th and continue on each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-6:00pm until the tryout date of November 2nd. There will also be incremental conditioning-only opportunities on Wednesday, October 21st and Wednesday, October 28th for 1 hour from 4:00-5:00pm. These two sessions will be outdoors and are weather permitting. Pre-season participation has no impact on roster selection. Any PCCA scholar in 7th – 11th grade may attend pre-season events and tryouts.

After tryouts, a new practice schedule will be posted including week nights and Saturdays. Players are expected to attend all practices being 5-10 minutes early for each and picked-up no later than 10 minutes after practices conclude. Tardiness can result in suspension and/or possible removal from the roster. All practices are closed to parents / outside spectators.

Participants are responsible for their own water bottles and encouraged to be well hydrated (drink 2 bottles of water before sessions).

To participate in tryouts, each athlete must complete and submit the four State and/or County permission, waiver and medical forms. They can be found under the “forms” tab on this website.

Basketball Team members are subject to PCCA Athletics academic and behavioral policies. Policies can be found on pages 51-56 of the Student/Parent Handbook.

Basketball Team fees are: $125.00

As an Adidas school, team members will also have the opportunity to purchase team shoes. This is not a mandatory requirement.

Junior Varsity Soccer:

The soccer program is set for an exciting year with 8 games already on the schedule: 4 home and 4 away. Away games are all within a 45-minute drive and, due to Covid-safety protocols, athletes are required to provide their own travel arrangements. Covid-related protocols for away game venues are not yet known but will be communicated prior to any travel.

Pre-season conditioning starts Monday, October 12th and runs each day through Thursday, October 15th. These sessions are held for 1 hour from 4:00-5:00pm, are outdoors (wear running shoes and not cleats) and are weather permitting. Pre-season participation has no impact on roster selection. Any PCCA scholar in 7th – 11th grade may attend pre-season events and tryouts.

Tryouts are being held on Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th at Fred Poppe Regional Park from 4:15 – 5:30pm. Due to Covid-safety protocols, athletes are required to provide their own travel arrangements. Parents are welcome to wait at the park but may not be on the sidelines or engage with tryouts.

PCCA’s own soccer field is undergoing maintenance and is expected to be ready for use for November 9th.
